First morning in Phuket

After a hearty buffet breakfast, we set off to explore the island.

First stop was Karon Beach, which was fairly quiet, with the sea punctuated by surfers and the occasional swimmer.This was a reconnaissance mission to see what the beach was like and it came up trumps with the Rykersaurus, who loved chasing the miniature crabs as they scampered across the sand. Having the attention span of a crab however, Rykersaurus soon decided that he had had enough and wanted his shoes back on. He must be the only child on this earth that prefers to wear shoes at the beach!

Making a mental note to return, we de-sanded and made our way to Kata.
