Traditional Thai Feast

Thoroughly enjoyed  traditional Thai feast on the hotel rooftop on the night of my birthday.

We were genuinely impressed with the delicious dishes served in beaten silver dishes and the fresh, sweet juice we received on upon arrival.  Despite his initial protest, Rykersaurus soon tucked into an omelette and was soon asking for more (we have since taken to calling him Oliver).

It should be said that we usually avoid these pre-arranged tourist activities like the plague, however for the benefit of the dinosaur, we went along and our judgement of such events was adjusted (in a positive way).

More difficult to adjust to was the seating arrangement – cushions! Jason had a bit of a sore back anyway due to the soft bed, which didn’t help the situation. However, all in all, was fine – what kind of holiday would it be without a bit of cramping and numbness? Note to self: must start yoga again when we get home.

There was a small band playing traditional music and at certain intervals, traditional dancers would take the floor in their brightly coloured costumes. Ryker began to announce the arrival of each troupe and was transfixed by their subtle, yet skilful, movements.
