ROMA

ROM150283

Arrived safely in Rome after an unremarkable flight from Dublin on Aer Lingus. Unremarkable means good! And what a contrast to the peaceful, not to mention cold, place we left behind – Rome is hot, bustling, cosmopolitan and bursting at the seams with architectural marvels. The first afternoon was one of acclimatisation as we shed our woollen scarves and jackets and jostled amongst the hordes in stifling heat but soon Rome crept under our skin again. It has this way of slowly seeping in until you decide you want to down tools, or in this case, suitcases, and stay for good. Who wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to live in a country where there is pizza, lasagne and gelati on tap?
