RYKERSAURUS ATTRACTS ATTENTION AT THE DA VINCI EXHIBIT

VEN151391

One morning, we visited an exhibit of interactive machines made from Leonardo Da Vinci’s sketches at the Church of San Barnaba. An extraordinary man and a fascinating array of machines to push and pull and, in Rykersaurus’ case, drop. There was a sandbag on a pulley system to demonstrate reduced effort through the use of pulleys. The Rykersaurus was testing the effort required to lift the different sandbags when he let go of the rope, leaving the sandbag he was hoisting with little option but to drop to the ground with an earth-shattering boom. Everyone gasped and turned around and the door person immediately rushed in to see what had happened. In shock, I managed to mouth “Scusi”, which satisfied him and enabled Jason, Ryker and I to breathe a sigh of relief. Another disaster averted. This picture was taken right after it happened.
