HIS LORDSHIP LEAPING ON SIFNOS ISLAND, GREECE

SIF150098

Sifnos is fantastic. The beach near the port is perfect for the Rykersaurus: still, clear and shallow. Mountains rise up only metres from the sea, with churches sitting on the peaks like proverbial cherries.

We visited Sifnos when Ryker was about seven months old and loved it then as we do now. At that time, Ryker was partial to the odd beach splash; now we have to offer bribes to get him out of the water.

There are cafes right on the beach, as well as tavernas on the waterfront, making dining a much more relaxing environment given the endless entertainment for Ryker. At the waterfront restaurants, there are fish and cats to watch and when dining by the sea, Rykersaurus can actually have a splash in between courses!

Sifnos is quite a small island and although there are plenty of tourists, it still retains its original charms; old fishing boats, whitewashed houses, amazing food (I could write a page on the deliciousness of the local cheese, Manoura, alone) and friendly locals.
