After very little shut eye, we headed wearily but happily to the airport for our 6am flight to Dubai. Rykersaurus was tired but excited and of course, hungry, so he inhaled an enormous muffin before boarding. Once seated on the plane, Rykersaurus immediately donned his earphones, plugged them into his device and was off into cyberspace. Happy as Larry. Happier even. This concerns me normally but frankly, I couldn’t wait to plug in either. Jason was also pretty quick to pull out his noise cancellers. There is no family time on this plane – it’s each to his own.

Feeling exhausted after the flight, we summoned up whatever energy we had left and made it to the hotel’s club room for a high tea. The caffeine and sugar was of great benefit, giving us another few hours of power to unpack a bit and devour room service before finally succumbing to sleep.
