Corcelles-en-Beaujolais

Spent two nights in a beautiful gîte (furnished holiday house) in Corcelles-en-Beaujolais, a commune in the Rhône department in eastern France.  The proprietor was lovely as were her two pets, Chester, the giant golden retriever and Nadal, her Burmese cat. On the first day, Chester bounded up the stairs into Ryker’s room and within seconds, emerged with Ryker’s pyjama bottoms in his mouth! Ryker thought that was wonderful!

This tiny town by the Rhône is full to the brim with rows and rows of vines, which not only meant an outstanding selection of wines but  breathtaking scenery.
