Anything and everything goes in Heraklion! The taxi ride from the airport took much longer than it should have due to the sheer congestion of the roads – cars, trucks, scooters all navigating along narrow roads that were never meant for modern vehicles (although I suspect an horse and cart may have had trouble negotiating some of the bends). In spite of the chaos, we feel immediately at home – there is nothing like the warm sunny climes of Greece!
