Falcon souk

We walked from the Museum of Islamic Art to the Waqif Souk, Doha’s oldest market. There is only a kilometre or so between the two points but in 45 degrees heat, this was harder than we thought! It wasn’t long before our jaunty walk became a trudge and then a stagger. We arrived at the open air souk drenched in sweat and desperately in need of respite from the heat.  We soon found it in an air-conditioned coffee shop – quel relief!

Once we had recovered, we explored the outdoor stalls full of carpets and trinkets and then made our way to the Falcon souk. The Rykersaurus has always had a fascination for birds of prey so this was a highlight for him.
